In order to operate, we are required to fundraise 100% of our tuition gap (the difference between our annual budget and annual tuition revenue). Although this campaign will not close the gap completely, it will meet our goal of establishing a secure financial position in advance of the beginning of the school year and help avoid any cash flow issues.

July 7, 2022: The Archdiocese of Washington and the Chesterton Academy of St. Mary’s have entered into a lease agreement for the Parish Center at Immaculate Conception Church in Mechanicsville, MD. The Parish Center will become the new location for the Chesterton Academy beginning in September.
“In our first year of operation, we were blessed to enroll twenty-five students,” said Headmaster Andrew Pudysz. “At this new location, we anticipate forty students enrolling this Fall and will have room to grow to seventy or more students over the next several years.”

It was both successful and well-attended, welcoming 64 current students and parents and 19 prospective students and parents. Some prospective students were as young as 5th grade, which revealed a healthy pipeline of students in the Academy’s future.
The goal of the event was two-fold. First, to get our current students and parents geared up for the next academic year. Second, for prospective students and parents to discover Chesterton Academy of St. Mary’s.
The self-paced event included 8 information tables, including Fine Arts, School Spiritwear, Uniforms/Exchange, RaiseRight Fundraising, Volunteer Program, Club Sports/School Clubs Sign Up and Summer Reading Book Exchange/Bus Information.

Students displayed a variety of talent, including a singing duet with piano, violin and guitar instruments.

The Academic Awards ceremony followed where Headmaster Andrew Pudysz presented Second Honor Awards (cumulative GPA between 3.33 and 3.66) and First Honors Awards (cumulative GPA between 3.67 and 4.0).

Mrs. Prigge specializes in Student Success Strategies, including Motivation, Learning Styles, Note Taking, Study Techniques, Goal Setting, Dealing with Test Anxiety and Effective Time Management. She excels in coaching and mentoring to assist teachers, students, and parents with conflict, academic, and personal-social concerns. She will offer guidance on peer conflicts, self-regulation, and classroom behavior norms.
Mrs. Prigge will fill an important role as the College Counselor as a number of students discern their post-high school plans. She will assist students in their college search and discernment of their career goals. She is proficient in Naviance, Xello and Veracross college and post-secondary platform software programs used Nationwide by colleges for data, records, and research.

Chesterton Academy of St. Mary’s held their Mass of the Holy Spirit at St. Joseph Catholic Church on Thursday, September 30, 2021. The beautiful Mass was celebrated by our Chaplain, Father Drew Royals. All of our amazing teachers took their Oath of Fidelity to the Magisterium of the Holy Roman Catholic Church and all Students took their Chesterton Academy of St. Mary’s Student Pledge. The Students led the music and served at the altar and as lector.
