Our Inaugural Year Gala Was a Success Thanks to You!

Dear Friend of Chesterton Academy

On Friday April 29, 2022, over two-hundred parents, friends, supporters, clergy, and members of the community joined in celebration of Chesterton Academy of St Mary's first year! It was an extraordinary evening, filled with joy, music, good food, good conversations, and excitement. On behalf of our students, faculty, and Board, heartfelt thanks to each of you who attended in person or in spirit.  And, of course, a special thanks to the individuals and businesses who contributed to our auction. You're wonderful!

It is clear from the energy we felt that evening and comments during the Gala and since, that Chesterton Academy of St Mary's has earned a special place in your minds and hearts. This is especially uplifting as we look forward to moving to a larger school. With more and bigger classrooms, we will make affordable, classical, faithfully Catholic education available to more families in Southern Maryland.

If all goes according to plan, Immaculate Conception Church's Parish Center will become the new home of Chesterton Academy of St Mary's in September. We are working hard to get everything done on time - from finalizing the lease to securing State and County approvals to expanding our faculty.

As you can appreciate, moving a whole school is neither easy nor inexpensive. For this reason, if you missed the Gala and were thus unable to take part in the fund-raising auctions, could you consider making a "bid" in the form of a donation? Or if you were there on Friday but didn't win an item you bid on, could you possibly make that "bid" again through a donation? In both cases, the "item" you win will be the best of them all: seeing the smiling faces and joyous participation of more Chesterton Academy students at next year's Gala.

Among the comments we heard Friday was this: "We had no idea what to expect last night. What we found surprised and touched us. The faculty, students, music, the room, the food - everything and everyone radiated good sense, goodwill, and joy. You made my wife and me believers in the value of having this school in our community."
